CO₂ laser alignment & optics tuning
If your cuts are trapezoid, quality changes across the bed, or corners look wrong, alignment and optics tuning are often the fix. We guide you step-by-step via Zoom for USA & Canada.
Operated by the same technical team behind CNC Laser Deals (10+ years of hands-on laser cutter & CNC service experience).
Quick checks before you chase alignment
- Clean optics first: dirty mirrors/lens can mimic “bad alignment” and cause uneven power across the bed.
- Verify focus and table height: the wrong focus distance can look like alignment issues (especially on one side of the bed).
- Rule out motion problems: loose belts/pulleys, backlash, or too-high acceleration can create corner rounding and “wobbly” shapes even with perfect optics.

Common symptoms
- Trapezoid cuts / beam not vertical
- Quality changes across the bed
- Uneven engraving across the workspace
- Corner issues that look like tuning problems
- Burning more on one side
What we tune
- Mirror 1–2–3 alignment sequence
- Beam centering through the nozzle
- Head square & beam verticality checks
- Focus distance verification
- Mechanical basics that mimic alignment issues
What to prepare
- Smartphone camera + good lighting
- Masking tape + small tools for mirror adjustments
- Clean optics (dirty optics can fake “alignment issues”)
- Time for test pulses and bed position checks
What “good alignment” should look like
- Consistent cut/engrave quality across the full bed
- Square corners (when motion settings are correct)
- Beam centered through the nozzle and stable through travel
- No “left side stronger than right side” power behavior
FAQ
Is this settings or alignment?
Both can cause poor results. We separate motion/mechanical issues (belts, accel, backlash) from optics alignment,
then fix the real cause.
Can alignment fix corner rounding?
Sometimes, but corner rounding is often acceleration/backlash. If needed, we tune both optics and motion parameters.
Do you help with Ruida/Trocen parameters too?
Yes. We review controller parameters that affect motion and cutting results.
